Diamonds Netball Academy Secures Win with Team Development in Focus

Richard Lucas9 Jan - 17:04

Developing Skills, Building Teamwork

The Diamonds Netball Academy recently enjoyed a successful outing with a 34-4 win in their latest match. The team strategy prioritized player development by rotating positions throughout the game, ensuring a learning experience alongside their victory.

"We aimed to balance scoring with development opportunities for our players, enabling them to gain experience in different roles," said Coach Lucas.

The "Girls of the Game," as voted by Laurel Park, were Flo Bedwell and Flo Shortte, both of whom showed outstanding skills and versatility on the court. Anya Zaman was named Player's Player, closely followed by Flo Shortte and Meghan.

Meghan also earned the Coach's Player award for her notable first match performance, where she took on the role of Goal Shooter. Year 5 players Jessie and Abi received special mentions for their mature play and dedication, contributing positively to the team’s dynamics.

The game was as much about personal and team growth as it was about the score, marked by a genuine enjoyment and camaraderie among the players.

The Diamonds Netball Academy is looking forward to applying these experiences in their upcoming matches, with a continued focus on developing versatile and skilled players in a supportive team environment.
